1. Application for Membership

1.1 Prospective members of DIN must meet the following requirements:

  • They must be sponsored by an existing member
  • They must complete a DIN Membership Application
  • The current annual dues must be submitted with the application

1.2 A sponsoring member should be familiar with the character of the person being sponsored, to ensure that they will be an asset to DIN.

1.3 Applying for membership, requirements for membership, the number of members, etc. is NOT a topic of discussion for a DIN System QSO!  Discussion of these topics or questions should be deferred to land-line or face-to-face communications, not on the air.

2. Membership Termination

If the DIN Principals determine that a membership must be terminated, prorated membership dues will be refunded.

3. Membership - Definitions

3.1 An "Individual Membership" is defined as a single adult Licensed Amateur Operator desiring the use of DIN System repeaters and controller ancillary functions.

3.2 A "Family Membership" is defined as a primary Licensed Amateur DIN member, their Licensed spouse, and their Licensed dependent minor children.

4. Dues and Basic Responsibilities

4.1 The intent of annual dues is not to cover the cost of the system.  The purpose of dues is to allow "Select Individuals" use of the ancillary system functions and help defray ongoing maintenance.  Dues and donations provide NO ownership of any part of the DIN System.

4.2 Dues are $35 per year for an Individual, payable one year in advance.  Family Membership dues are $45 per year payable one year in advance.

4.3 Members are responsible for the prospective members they sponsor.  They are to actively guide, and if necessary control, the sponsored member.

4.4 Members are welcome to be active or inactive on the System at their convenience, but are expected to support the System continuously.  If a member wishes a leave of absence, it must be for six (6) months to waive dues.  Please notify DIN well in advance in writing.  At three (3) months in arrears, we ask you to cease using the ancillary functions of the System.  After one (1) year you will be removed from membership.

4.5 Members are welcome to use the entire DIN System and affiliated systems of the intertie.  If you regularly operate within the DIN System or an affiliate system, you will be expected to fully support both systems as required by the respective systems.
